That year, travelers in Europe took over 300 million trips for wellness tourism purposes, while visitors in the Asia-Pacific region and North America made around 242 and 213 million trips, respectively, for the same reason. Overall, domestic travel played an essential role in the leading wellness tourism destinations worldwide, with 95 percent of all trips in Asia made by domestic travelers in 2022.
