Biocomposites are materials composed of natural fibers or particles and a matrix material that binds the fibers together. In 2020, cork was the most used fiber material in Europe, accounting for 53 percent of biocomposite granulate production. Other materials used include wood, natural fibers such as flax or hemp, and cellulose.
