A survey conducted in Ireland in 2020 asked respondents that had experienced cyberbullying how the bullying had occurred. For girls, 41 percent said that cyberbullying had happened through messages sent to them on their phones and 38 percent said that it had happened on a social networking site. For boys, 31 percent stated that it had happened via an online game and 25 percent said that it had occurred on a social networking site.
