App downloads of main food subscription box providers in the U.S. 2022-2024

HelloFresh is the dominant player in the meal kit delivery market in the United States. In terms of app downloads, the German food subscription box provider has been on top of the App Store and Play Store leaderboards for several years now. In October 2024, the HelloFresh app was downloaded over 501,000 times. Its closest competitors, Home Chef, only managed roughly 38,000 downloads in that same month.

Meal kits industry globally

HelloFresh achieved global success during the pandemic and beyond, with the Berlin-based company's revenues reaching nearly eight billion euros by 2023. The meal kit industry is forecast to witness continuous growth globally, with estimated revenues of nearly twenty billion U.S. dollars by 2028. In the United States alone, this figure could exceed seven billion U.S. dollars by 2028.
