In 2021, finance apps registered an 85 percent year-over-year increase in installs on iOS, as well as a 52 percent growth in installs on Android mobile systems. Dating apps experienced an uneven growth trend, losing 20 percent of their installs on Android compared to 2020, but gaining 40 percent year-over-year growth in installs on the iOS mobile system. Between 2020 and 2021, gaming apps lost approximately eight percent of their installs on iOS devices, while gaining 22 percent more installs on Android smartphones.
