According to a June 2021 survey of young internet users in the United States, 40 percent of female respondents reported engaging with video hangouts monthly, while male users doing so were 31 percent. Online gaming was more popular or common among young male users, with more than seven in 10 male respondents reporting to play on a monthly basis. By comparison, female users playing online were almost five in 10 in the examined period.
