
Contraceptive use among women in Tanzania 2010-2021
As of 2021, around 36 percent of women aged 15-49 years in Tanzania used contraceptives - either traditional or modern methods. Among Tanzanian women who were married or in a union, the contraceptive prevalence rate was higher, at roughly 44 percent. On the other hand, 24.4 percent of unmarried women used any form of contraception. Overall, the usage of contraceptives in the country has improved, regardless of marital status.
