In April 2021, with the release of iOS 14.5, Apple introduced the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework for developers. The framework, which is required to access users' Identifier For Advertisers (IFDA), gives users' the freedom to enable or disable tracking.
According to a survey of app publishers carried out in 2021, 31 percent of respondents reported it was too soon to assess properly the impact of ATT adoption on advertising revenues. By comparison, 25 percent of respondents saw a drop between 10 percent and 30 percent in their iOS ad revenue.
