A study conducted in 2020 showed that over 60 percent of the economic zones that took part in the survey in Africa engaged in environmental inspections and over 50 percent in labor inspections. Social and environmental services are sources of concern within economic zones since these are subject to special regulations. In Africa, only 36 percent and 32 percent of the zones provided housing facilities and sanitary facilities, respectively.
