During a survey conducted in India in September 2021, more than 70 percent of respondents stated that they had social media applications such as Facebook and Instagram installed on their smartphones. Trailing close behind were messaging apps such as WhatsApp which were installed on over 60 percent respondents' smartphones during the survey period.
