Advertising spending in Ireland 2020-2024

The source forecast that, in 2024, advertising spending in Ireland will grow by more than four percent and reach approximately 1.53 billion euros. Despite the projected annual growth, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France were among the leading European ad markets.

Ireland's top ad channels

In 2023, the online ad expenditure amounted to nearly 913 million euros, or around 62 percent of the total, making it Ireland's leading ad medium that year. TV and radio followed with less than 245 million and 155 million euros, respectively. According to another source, Irish digital ad revenues will continue to expand as the decade unfolds, reaching nearly 1.4 billion euros by 2028.

The Irish TV ad market

Despite surpassing pre-pandemic heights since 2021, TV ad spending in Ireland was projected to decline for the third consecutive year in 2024 to less than 235 million euros. However, the decrease – a likely side effect of the internet's constant rise – did not occur in the first three months of the latter year. As per yet another source, in early 2024, Ireland's quarterly TV ad spend surpassed 66.7 million euros. That was nine percent above the result recorded in the first quarter of 2023.
