Market share of desktop, mobile, tablet, and console devices in Italy 2016-2023

In Italy, the market share of mobile devices has increased. For instance, in 2016 the market share of such devices was around 27 percent and reached over 53 percent in 2023. By contrast, the market share of desktop devices fell in the given period, going from roughly 67 percent in 2016 to under 45 percent in 2023.

Italian mobile phone market

The mobile device industry has experienced and is forecast to continue steady growth in the coming years. Particularly, the mobile phone market will reach almost ten billion euros by 2026, growing compared to the previous year.
In 2023, Apple and Samsung were the most popular mobile device vendors. However, Android was by far the leading mobile operating system, accounting for almost 70 percent of the mobile operating system market share.

Italian PC market

Despite the desktop device market fluctuating between 2016 and 2023, it still generated around 680 million euros in revenues in 2023. Among all computer devices, laptops generated the highest revenue in the past six years and it is forecast to amount to over 2.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2028.
By contrast, after reaching its highest value in 2016, the revenue of the tablet market is expected to fall in the future. In 2023, iOS and Android registered the highest tablet operating system market shares.
