In 2021, the number of DirecTV's over-the-top (OTT) service subscriptions in Latin America amounted to approximately 810 thousand, up 88 percent from 430 thousand a year earlier. Meanwhile, the number of subscribers of DirecTV's direct-to-home (DTH) service decreased by 10 percent in 2021, standing just below 8.8 million. The Buenos Aires-based holding Grupo Werthein runs the commercial operations of the Latin American branch of DirecTV – officially renamed Vrio Corp. – since 2021.
