In 2019, an average of 24 percent of the African private businesses that took part in the survey declared that they would use private equity to fund digitization. The highest shares were in Southern Africa (29 percent) and East Africa (27 percent).

Included in the survey were 2,993 private businesses with a turnover of at least ten million euros in 53 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 200 private businesses from nine Sub-Saharan African countries were included and form the findings of this survey. This survey included all respondents.
