In 2019, a significant 73 percent of private business spokesmen surveyed in Sub-Saharan Africa responded positively to the high relevance of Internet of Things for the development of their future businesses. In comparison, only 25 percent of the respondents recognized the importance of robotics. Moreover, 45 percent believed in the importance of blockchain technologies.

Included in the survey were 2,993 private businesses with a turnover of at least ten million euros in 53 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 200 private businesses from nine Sub-Saharan African countries were included and form the findings of this survey.
