Nearly five million people used a small Solar Home System (SHS) in Africa as of 2018. This represented an increment of over 55 percent in comparison to the previous year. Other 3.6 million individuals were connected to large systems, up from 2.7 million in 2017. Overall, the usage of both small and large SHS has strongly increased in Africa.
