Current account balance as a share of GDP in Africa 2018-2022
The current account balance in Africa was projected at minus 4.1 percent of the continent’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as of 2021. This represented an improvement compared to the previous year when the account balance in African countries stood at minus 5.5 percent of the GDP. By 2022, further economic recovery was projected.
