BYD: electric vehicle sales in China 2020-2021, by type

In 2021, China's BYD Group has sold 320,810 battery electric vehicles, an increase of nearly 1.5 times over 2020. Another 272,935 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles were sold by the Group, representing year-over-year growth of nearly 4.7 times. BYD Group explained that its success in 2021 stems from core technologies, including the BYD Blade battery, DM-i and the new e Platform 3.0.
