Net-zero emission targets made considerable progress in recent years. As of November 2021, roughly 90 percent of global emissions were accounted for by net-zero emission targets, at different stages of approval. This is a significant improvement from January 2020, when countries representing roughly two thirds of global emissions had no net-zero target.
