Around 30 percent of respondents in Mozambique cited they feared armed attacks from political and religious extremists during the previous two years. Six percent reported they have already experienced such violence. Mozambique has seen the deterioration of an ongoing conflict in the northern province Cabo Delgado. Non-state armed groups are accused of perpetrating extreme violent attacks, including arbitrary killings and detentions, human trafficking, and kidnapping.
