In 2021, Colombia scored 80 points on a scale from zero to 100 in the universal health coverage (UHC) service coverage index, a measure of a country's ability to provide essential health services considering the population's needs. This figure increased by 28 points compared to the score reached in 2000. In that year, the South American nation obtained 53.2 points out of 100 in the Global Health Security Index (GHS).
