A June 2021 report studied the perception of inequality across different areas of women's sport in the United Kingdom. More than half of survey respondents recognized inequality when it came to media coverage, athletes' salaries and winnings, and sponsorships within women's sport in the UK. Additionally, 48 percent of respondents believed there to be unequal treatment in women's sport in the UK when it came to investment by governing bodies.

The survey question was originally phrased as follows: "To what extent, if at all, do you believe each of the following aspects of the business of sports are equitable in the way they treat women as compared to the treatment of men?"
