The total number of cars in Japan is projected to decrease in the coming years, from some 68 million cars in 2021 to about 60 million cars in 2035. Cars in Japan are, on the other hand, expected to become more connected. While only 12 percent of all cars in Japan were connected in 2021, it is projected that by 2035, their share will reach 74 percent.
