According to a survey in 2020, the surveyed Chinese enterprises stated that the WeChat group was the most important source of new customers for vertical social commerce platforms, with an importance scale of 8.94 out of 10. Besides, WeChat Moments and WeChat Offical Accounts were also listed as the leading sources of clients.
Most important channels for acquiring new customers of self-operated social commerce platforms in China 2020
The results are measured by a 1-10 scale. The higher the number is, the more important the channel is.
The survey was conducted among middle and large enterprises:
26 percent of the surveyed enterprises have annual revenues of one to 10 million yuan;
36 percent of the respondents have revenues of 10 million to 100 million yuan;
22 percent have revenues of 100 million to one billion yuan;
13 percent have revenues of one billion to five billion yuan;
and three percent of respondents have revenues of five to ten billion yuan.
