
Single player vs. multiplayer video gaming preference in the U.S. 2021, by age
An October 2021 survey of gaming audiences in the United States found a great variation across age groups in terms of single player versus multiplayer preference when playing video games. Survey respondents aged 18 to 34 years mostly preferred gaming with either friends or strangers in-person or online, whereas U.S. gamers aged 35 years and older tended to prefer single player experiences.
