In 2020, as the schools were closed due to the global coronavirus pandemic, government and private schools in India delivered learning materials to students through various online and offline medium. The most popular medium was WhatsApp as around 67 percent and 87 percent of the content was delivered through the platform in government schools and in public schools respectively.
