According to a survey among two thousand Chinese consumers in October 2021, around 36 percent of respondents said they expected to increase the usage of online shopping during Singles' Day sales out of safety concerns. In contrast, about 17 percent of surveyed consumers stated that they planned on spending less because of the reduced income due to COVID-19.
