With a quality score of 0.65 points, South Africa ranked as the best African city for startups in 2022, according to data provided by StartupBlink. The quality score studies parameters that indicate qualitative results achieved by the ecosystem. These parameters include analyzing the traction of the ecosystem’s top startups, as well as reviewing “special entities”. Egypt, Kenya, and Nigeria followed in the ranking.
