In 2022, about 56 of coal produced in the Philippines was exported to China, indicating a significant reduction from the previous year's share of about 95 percent. Meanwhile, coal exports to South Korea increased from 4.08 percent to 30.52 percent in 2022. Thailand, Brunei, and India were also added as new recipients of the country's coal in that year.
