In 2022, the overwhelming majority of nearly 98 percent of the Philippines' coal imports originated from Indonesia. The country's total coal imports amounted to roughly 32.7 billion metric tons at ten thousand British thermal units per pound in that year. In comparison, coal imports from Australia and Vietnam accounted for approximately 1.32 percent and 0.33 percent of the country's total coal imports, respectively.
