Outstanding debt securities among corporations in Australia 2018-2022

After declining in all but one quarters from the first quarter of 2018 to the first quarter of 2020, with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic the value of outstanding Australian corporate securities notably increased. From a total of 1.21 trillion U.S. dollars in Q1 2020, this value climbed to 1.41 trillion U.S. dollars in Q2 2022. Of this total, the outstanding debt securities from Australian financial corporations was over five times greater than those from non-financial corporations.
