In 2020, mobile gamers in Europe amassed over 12.5 billion downloads of game applications. This represented a year-over-year increase of more than 20 percent compared to the previous year. In 2020, Google Play was the leading online store for mobile game downloads in Europe, as it generated more than 80 percent of the total downloads for the year. By comparison, mobile game downloads on the App Store saw an increase of over 9 percent compared to 2019.
