The number of outbound trips from Ireland rose significantly in 2022 over the previous year, after shrinking with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Despite the sharp annual increase, outbound trips from Ireland remained slightly below the peak reported in 2019, totaling around 8.8 million in 2022.
