A December 2020 study analyzed the number of tourism jobs lost due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Ireland. The report estimated that in 2020 more than 161 thousand jobs were lost within the industry as a result of the pandemic. The food and beverage sector was the worst impacted by the health crisis, with roughly 58 thousand jobs lost overall.
