The number of companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) were very consistent over recent years. From 1,973 domestic and 126 international companies in January 2017, by May 2024 these values had only slightly changed to 1,893 domestic and 145 international companies. Over this time, the total market capitalization of domestic companies on the ASX increased from 1.75 trillion Australian dollars to 2.67 trillion Australian dollars.
