In 2020, Instagram allocated 390 million U.S. dollars to marketing, more than doubling its 2019 marketing spend. Instagram's parent company, Facebook Inc. (in 2021 rebranded to Meta Platforms Inc.), reported a total on 11.6 billion U.S. dollars in marketing and sales costs in 2020, which gives Instagram a share of three percent of what Facebook spent on marketing that year.
