At the beginning of October 2021 in Poland, the Sejm established a new state holiday - the National Day of the Victorious Greater Poland Uprising (Polish: Narodowy Dzień Zwycięskiego Powstania Wielkopolskiego). It falls on December 27, the anniversary of the outbreak of the uprising. By the decision of the Sejm, this day will not be free from work. However, most Poles wished to have the day off on December 27, thus extending the Christmas holiday period.
