The majority of Russians had not participated in the cashback program for domestic tourism first established by the authorities in August 2020, according to a survey conducted in summer 2021. Only six percent of the respondents had used the tourism cashback program at least once. The state program allowed residents to receive back a certain amount of the money they paid for domestic travel trips.
