The largest volume of natural gas, including associated gas, in Russia was produced in the Ural Federal District, at around 562.8 billion cubic meters in 2022. Furthermore, production of that fossil fuel in the Far Eastern Federal District reached approximately 50.5 billion cubic meters. Among federal subjects of the country, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in the Ural Federal District led by natural gas production.
