A December 2020 study investigated the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on tourism revenue in Ireland. According to the report's estimates, Ireland was expected to record 7.66 billion euros in tourism revenue in 2020. Due to the pandemic, however, the country was estimated to generate around 1.68 billion from tourism that year, reporting a revenue loss of roughly 5.98 billion euros.
