According to a survey carried out in January 2021, functionalized graphene was the form that had the highest frequency of use among graphene companies and institutions, with a share of more than 46 percent. Graphene oxide and multi-layer graphene were other frequently used types of graphene, both with more than 40 percent of survey responses.
From a commercial standpoint, graphene is a series of advanced materials, rather than a single one. Aspects such as the number of carbon layers and the form factor characterize the different graphene types.
