According to a survey of smartphone users conducted between December 2020 and January 2021 in Brazil, 84 percent of respondents reported using WhatsApp to communicate with friends and family. By comparison, both Facebook Messenger was used by approximately five in 10 respondents, while 24 percent reported using regular SMS for their personal communications.
