Light diesel oil was the most consumed petroleum fuel in Kenya as of 2020. The product accounted for some 46 percent of the total domestic demand for petroleum. Gasoline followed, with a 30 percent share in the total sales. Overall, domestic consumption of petroleum fuels in Kenya decreased that year. The reduction was attributed to movement restrictions implemented to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
