In 2022, Hays more than doubled their after-tax profit in comparison to 2021, accumulating approximately 154 million British pounds. The source adds the following information with respect of exceptional charges: "During the year 2020, the Group incurred an exceptional charge of £39.9 million (2019: £15.1 million). The Group has recognized a non-cash exceptional charge of £20.3 million resulting from the partial impairment of the carrying value of goodwill in relation to the US business that was acquired in December 2014. The goodwill impairment charge is a material non-cash item that on the basis of its size and non-recurring nature is considered to be exceptional."
