This reflected a much lower percentage population living in multidimensional poverty and deprivation of sanitation in India, compared to previous years. According to the source, a multidimensional poor individual is deprived in one-third or more of ten indicators across three equally weighted dimensions: health, education, and standard of living. Sanitation is among the six indicators of the standard of living dimension.
