Between 2019 and 2020, the size of merger and acquisition (M&A) deals announced in each region of Africa and the Middle East fell. In 2020, M&A deals announced in the Middle East amounted to 60.4 billion U.S. dollars, which was a 55 percent decrease over 2019.
