In 2022, the import volume of integrated circuits (IC) amounted to over 538 billion units. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the demand for electronic devices skyrocketed around the world. Despite being the largest manufacturer of electronics in the world, China cannot satisfy its demand for integrated circuits and semiconductors with domestic production and therefore depends on imports.
