According to a survey conducted between March and April 2021, a third of Chinese adult respondents considered minimizing pollution and conserving natural resources when making purchases of food and beverage products. However, the same survey also found that price and the lack of information about sustainable products and companies were the top barriers in making such consumption decisions.
