According to a survey conducted between May and August 2020, 78 percent of households in rural India accessed food benefits under the PMGKY (Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana) package. Meanwhile, cash coverage for both rural and urban regions remained lower at respectively 47 percent of rural households and about 27 percent of urban households.
