According to a survey on retail shopping conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2021, approximately 34 percent of Thai female respondents, who planned to shop less frequently in physical stores even after the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, stated that they tried to avoid crowds as they were afraid of catching the virus. Meanwhile, around 15 percent of the male respondents in the country reported that they did not intend to go in-store shopping as they preferred to shop online.
